Student dormitories/apartments

PNU does not have any student dormitories.
If you wish to live in an apartment etc., you must organize it yourself using a real estate agent.
Agreements to rent apartments should be made with full understanding of the agreement contents after checking the property yourself (and if possible with a guardian, too).

Furthermore, you can take advantage of the ‘Kahoku City Student Accommodation Monetary Assistance Scheme’ that pays part of the rent for students living in apartments in Kahoku City.

Kahoku City Monetary Assistance Scheme for Students Living in Rental Accommodation

Eligibility Applicants must be students or graduate school students of IPNU who have had an address in Kahoku City for at least six continuous months as at 1st January (address must be registered before the 2nd of July of the previous year), and who are living in rental accommodation within the city.
Assistance amount Each student can receive a maximum of 60,000 yen per year.
Application process Gather together the following documents and submit them along with a Monetary Assistance Application Form by the end of January to the Kahoku City Hall Policy Planning and Communication Division or the Takamatsu Branch Takamatsu Service Center or the Nanatsuka Branch Nanatsuka Service Center.

  • Copy of Student ID
  • Certificate of Residence (Extract) (Issued after the 1st of January showing a moving in date of before the 2nd of July of the previous year) or a copy of an amendment to a Family Register Certificate and current Driver’s License (for those who wish to receive monetary assistance who changed their address to their hometown to obtain a driver’s license but who registered their address back to Kahoku City after obtaining the license)
  • Copy of Rental Agreement for accommodation (a document which shows the agreement, the agreement period, and agreement amount)
Issuance of decision Applicants will be notified of the decision via written notification (early February)
Request for Monetary Assistance By the end of February, submit a request for monetary assistance to the Kahoku City Hall Policy Planning and Communication Division or the Takamatsu Branch Takamatsu Service Center or the Nanatsuka Branch Nanatsuka Service Center.
Payment dates for monetary assistance A credit transfer will be made to the designated financial institution within 30 days of the date of the request for monetary assistance.
Other The decision will be made void if the application is found to be false or is fraudulent, or a request for monetary assistance is not made by the due date.
