International Exchange
International Contribution Project (acceptance of JICA trainees)
At the Community Care Center, we accept JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) trainees for the purpose of making an international contribution.
Upon the request of JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency), for six years from 2005 the university has held training in the Republic of Tajikistan – called the ‘Maternal and Child Health Support Project for the Republic of Tajikistan’. Each year, 6-8 trainees in the mother and child health area are accepted for approximately two months. They take lectures at IPNU as well as train at health and welfare institutions in Kahoku City and midwife clinics.
In addition, since 2007, as part of Japanese Descendant trainees in South America project – The Elderly Welfare Care System and Human Resource Training’, each year, 2-4 trainees are accepted for approximately two months with the cooperation of the Hakui City Social Welfare Council. They attend lectures at IPNU, lectures held by the Hakui City Social Welfare Council and training at related institutions. The objective is to learn about the systems being used to cope with the problem of aging in South American Japanese immigrant communities such as in Paraguay.
In 2016, IPNU accepted trainees from Cambodia for the first time, therefore contributing to the education of individuals who will, as future leaders, take on the role of problem-solving in the field of community health medicine.
