On October 24–25, 2026, we attended the 14th Annual Meeting of Nursing Science and Engineering, held at Yokohama City University’s Fukuura Campus in Kanagawa Prefecture, where three research presentations were delivered from our Joint Research Course in Well-Being Nursing.

Many alumni, graduate students, and faculty members from Ishikawa Prefectural Nursing University also attended the meeting to present their research findings. The meeting provided a valuable opportunity for lively discussions and exchanges of ideas aimed at advancing research and developing innovative care technologies through the integration of nursing and engineering.

We are pleased to announce that Lecturer Daijiro Haba received the Best Presentation Award as the first author of the presentation titled “車椅子フットレスト搭載型振動器による足底局所低周波振動刺激が起立・着座動作時の下腿筋活動に及ぼす影響.”

In addition, several research papers involving members of our Joint Research Course received awards from the Society for Nursing Science and Engineering in 2026.

A research paper led by Lecturer Daijiro Haba received the Society Award. Furthermore, two research papers co-authored by Professor Masaru Matsumoto received the Outstanding Paper Awards for Practice Reports and Rapid Communications, one in the Practice Report category and the other in the Rapid Communication category.

These awards represent a significant recognition of our ongoing research in Bio-engineering Nursing. The studies were made possible through collaboration with many researchers and colleagues. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who contributed to these studies and to all those who continue to support our research activities.

Building on the knowledge gained and connections established at this meeting, we will continue to advance our research toward developing innovative care technologies through the integration of nursing and engineering, ultimately contributing to better nursing care.

The 15th Annual Meeting of Nursing Science and Engineering is scheduled to take place in Miyazaki Prefecture on November 13–14, 2027.
